Snapshot Songs

The premiere of Snapshot Songs, a song-cycle for 21st-century London, commissioned by The SHM Foundation and composed by Stuart Hancock in collaboration with Londoners, took place on 13-14 April 2014 at the Guildhall School’s brand new concert hall Milton Court. The performance featured the London Schools Symphony Orchestra conducted by Peter Ash, a 50-strong choir as diverse as London itself, soloists from all over the city and the incredible ensemble Drumheads, with standing ovations on both nights from a sell-out audience.

The songs were composed through a series of collaborative workshops with organisations including Only ConnectBody & Soul, and Barbican-Guildhall Creative Learning. Visit the Snapshot Songs website to meet choir members and follow the creative process.
